Aidan Gardiner is a New York City-based journalist with The New York Times.  He was formerly a news editor at DNAinfo New York, where he'd worked for five years until its abrupt close in November 2017

He majored in urban studies at The New School, but fell in with the student newspaper crowd and never escaped. He edited The New School Free Press for three years and then went on to study journalism at Columbia. Later, he returned to The New School to teach about New York's journalism history and act as a faculty adviser to his old student newspaper.

Fun fact: Aidan once danced on stage to "Smooth" during a Santana concert. There will never be a repeat performance.
